About
Veritas Academy educates capable, motivated students from kindergarten through twelfth grade in the quiet of the North Carolina foothills. We believe a good school is a small one — small enough that every student is known, and serious enough that they are truly challenged.
Our classrooms are conversations, not lectures. Our teachers are mentors who follow their students across the year. We graduate thoughtful, articulate young people who go on to strong colleges and full lives.
Small by Design
We keep our cohorts deliberately small so that every student is known — by name, by mind, and by the faculty who teach them.
Mentored, Not Lectured
Classes are conversations. Students meet weekly with a faculty advisor who follows their work across the year.
A Culture of Inquiry
We prize good questions over confident answers. Students learn to think carefully, write plainly, and reason honestly.

We accept a small number of new students each year. The application takes about fifteen minutes and asks for the basics — who you are, where you have studied, and why you would like to join us.
